The Highways Department today (May 25) invited tenders for retrofitting of noise barriers on Tseung Kwan O Road .

Under the invitation to tender gazetted today, the works mainly comprise the retrofitting of approximately 1,070-metre noise barriers on Tseung Kwan O Road and flyover of Tseung Kwan O Road; laying of low noise surfacing materials of approximately 370 metres in length on Tseung Kwan O Road; associated road, drainage, geotechnical, street lighting and landscaping works, as well as implementation of environmental monitoring and audit programme for the works.  

The works are expected to begin in September and will take about 40 months (including 12 months establishment period for landscaping works) to complete.

The works have been designed and construction will be supervised by OVE ARUP & Partners Hong Kong Limited appointed by the major works project management office of Highways Department.
