1  Approved Ma On Shan Outline Zoning Plan amended
Hong Kong Government, 11 July 2008

The Town Planning Board today (July 11) announced an amendment to the approved Ma On Shan Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendment is to rezone a site at the junction of Hang Chi Street and Hang Tai Road in Area 86, Ma On Shan, from "Road" to "Residential (Group B)2" for a public rental housing development.

The draft Ma On Shan OZP No. S/MOS/14, incorporating the amendment, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the secretariat of the board, the planning enquiry counters in North Point and Sha Tin Government Offices, Sha Tin, Tai Po and North District Planning Office, Sha Tin District Office and Sha Tin Rural Committee.

Any person may make written representations in respect of the amendment to the secretary of the board on or before September 11, 2008. Representations made to the board will be made available for public inspection.

Copies of the draft OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the board's website at www.info.gov.hk/tpb.

 

2  MTR Wins Hang Seng Pearl River Delta Environmental Awards 2008

The MTR Corporation has won the Hang Seng Pearl River Delta Environmental Awards 2008, jointly organised by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) and Hang Seng Bank. The award is a recognition of the company’s commitment to promoting environmental friendly practices and sustainability.

“The award recognises our effort in protecting our environment and embracing sustainability,” said Mr David Leung, General Manager - Technical & Engineering Service of the MTR Corporation.

“Over the years, we have launched many projects in these areas, including energy saving programs in stations, the recycling of industrial rechargeable batteries, construction of Tung Chung noise barriers, Corporate social responsibility reporting, and environmental community activities.”

“All these initiatives contribute to provide quality living not only to our customers, but also to the Hong Kong community as a whole.
