1. Housing Authority accepts leasing proposal for North Point Estate
site
Hong
Kong Government, 30 September 2004
The
following is issued on behalf of the Housing Authority:
The
Housing Authority (HA) has accepted a leasing proposal for display
and sale of motor vehicles for the Eastern lot of the former North
Point Estate.
The
13,000 square metre unpaved site will be leased for a fixed term
of 15 months from tomorrow (October 1). HA will receive monthly
rental of $81,000 exclusive of rates and Government rent.
"Apart
from securing a monthly rental income, the leasing could also save
the daily maintenance or management costs and Government rent, which
would otherwise be borne by the HA should the lot be left idle,"
a spokesman for the HA said today (September 30).
The
spokesman added that the site was cleared in November last year
and would be returned to the Government according to an earlier
decision by the HA.
The
Eastern lot is one of the three separate lots at the former North
Point Estate.
Earlier
this month, the Western lot was leased to the Arts Development Council
for performances or exhibitions of arts and cultural activities
for a fixed term of 16 months.
The
Central lot is currently operated by an approved car park operator
as an open car park under a car park management contract commencing
from June 1 this year. |
