1. Two works schemes in Stanley and Wong Tai Sin to improve facilities Hong
Kong Government, 25 October 2002 The
Chief Executive in Council has authorized two works schemes in Stanley and Wong
Tai Sin under the Roads (Works, Use and Compensation) Ordinance to provide residents
with improved facilities. The
projects are - proposed public transport terminus at Stanley Village Road and
reconstruction of two footbridges across Choi Hung Road near Shatin Pass Road

develop a multi-storey carpark at the existing location of the bus terminus at
Stanley Village Road. Opportunity is also taken to upgrade the existing bus terminus
under the Scheme. Works
in Stanley will involve construction of a public transport terminus with three
bus bays, four mini-bus bays and a taxi stand at Stanley Village Road; construction
of a pedestrian subway linking Stanley Village Road to Stanley New Street; reconstruction
of sections of the existing carriageways and footpaths along Stanley Village Road,
Stanley New Street, Stanley Beach Road and Hoi Fung Path; permanent closure of
sections of the existing footpaths along Stanley Beach Road and Hoi Fung Path;
and ancillary works including drainage works. In
Wong Tai Sin, The two footbridges across Choi Hung Road near Shatin Pass Road
and Tai Shing Street, which were built in early 1970's, will be demolished and
