Hong Kong Government, 12 October 2006

A section of wall tiling and rendering of the external wall of the Administration Building of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) fell off about 1:30 pm today (October 12). The section measured about one metre by 2.5 metres.

Nobody was hurt in the incident. To ensure the safety of pedestrians, the outdoor area between the Administration Building and the Auditoria was cordoned off.

The Architectural Services Department is now inspecting the wall and will arrange immediate remedial work.

Programmes at the HKCC will take place as scheduled. Patrons will be guided to use other entrances to gain access into the HKCC.
